It has been a while since my last post. I didn’t really realize until one of my mate mentioned about it when we were out during the weekend. "I was just simply busy"… that was my immediate answer. Actually I have been trying to post something about this Pop Korean Girl Group who is taking the world by storm. I stumbled upon this gem as I was viewing a YouTube Vid (Tuts My Barreh!) --> recommendedsent by my mate. Well, read on and you will know what I am trying to tell…
From South Korea to the States… to the Europe and the rest of Asia…WONDERGIRLS; a South Korean girl pop group is taking on the world by a big bang! with their super popular single – NOBODY. Be it a 10 yr old girl attending pre-school in Korea or a college-attending male from Germany, everyone of them from every possible corner are mimicking the popular-but-rather-cheesy dance. At 1st I didn’t realize it was such a huge hit but as I surfed through the YouTube, I was bombarded with seamless mimics. That was when I realized I need to share the phenomenon. Some of the vids were pretty hilarious and some are pretty genuine. I managed to pick 10 best mimics and wrote a little review on them. After going through this post, I am pretty sure you can't stop singing ~~ I wanna nobody nobody but you hoo hoo... I wanna nobody nobody but you hoo hoo ~~ :D:D:D
하나:1The Original: Wonder Girls
The full music video for Nobody was released in the early autumn of 2008, and the single was digitally released at the same time. They performed the following weekend on Music Core, Music Bank and Inkigayo. The song went to #1 on KBS' Music Bank, staying there for four consecutive weeks, and also won Cyworld's Song of the Month award in September and October 2008.

Times are bad and days are getting darker and gloomier... Well, best gauge of all to detect the tell-tale signs is the newspaper.
As I travelled to my work place this morning, I picked up a copy of free paper The Sun. As I flipped through the paper, I developed a sense of uneasiness and slowly but surely feeling a bit upset with all the bad news that have bombarded the country and the whole world recently. The world is in chaos as far as I am concerned, with unpredictable weathers everywhere, economic slowdown on every shore, politically motivated surges in some parts of the world and worst news of all, power-craze-politicians in my country are abusing their authority assigned to them by the people for their own freaking benefits.
You will understand how I feel if you continue with the followings... the 10 factors that contributed to my day being dark and gloomy...
ONE. Shady Concessionaire Deals
We were debating Toll Management 1 month ago... now we are facing with Water Supplies. The term 'Concessionaire' in this country seems to mean 'make-as-much-as-you-can-from-tax payers'. Sources from The New Strait Times caught quoting "an allowance of RM5.1 mil is paid in 2007 to Tan Sri Rozali Ismail, executive chairman of both Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd and Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas). On top of that, since 2005, Syabas pays Puncak Niaga a management fee of RM700,000 a month." Is there a need for such excesses? Well, in the words of Rozali to the New Straits Times: “If Syabas wanted a professional to run it, then they should be able to pay for it.” To date Syabas has run up to a debt totalling RM 3mil. Now, that's really professional. These "Licensed Suckers' are draining our pockets clean like nobody's bznez...
TWO. Perak Tree House Quoted by Zambry: An attempt to embarrass the government. Quoted by Jasaurus: An attempt to give people a choice to choose. Well, I am certain that the Perakians do not want a Pot who calls a Kettle black to be their representative. A sad sad day indeed.
THREE. Gangster Police A second post mortem conducted on A. Kugan, who died in police custody, revealed 45 injury marks, believed to have been caused by repeated beating with a blunt object, on his body, according to the lawyer for his family N. Surendran. The despicable police force who get their pay cheque from Taxpayers once again has failed us. What a grim day... FOUR. KLCI Free Fall The stocks in Bursa Malaysia closed 5.62 points lower at... The KLCI has decline 8% to... The Bursa Malaysia dropped 9.02 points to close at... These are all the Biznez/Financial Headlines on every national paper these days. Needless to describe further.
FIVE. BN Playing Monopoly DAP Lok Siew Fook - Rasah MP & Labu Assemblyman claimed BN is using tactics to talk him into leaving the party with attractive terms. He also claimed, since he is the state representative and a parliamentarian, the reward he would get probably be more than RM20 mil... Very sad to see our government is treating all these like a board game. If all these crazy amount of incentives are true... I wish Madam Hee Yit Fong good luck and pray that she is able to sleep well at night.
SIX. Darkest day for Sports A dozen gunmen injured seven Sri Lankan cricket players, killed 6 policemen in Pakistan. This incident will definitely change the way sports events are run and organize. To all the sportsperson out there, the fans, the event stewards and the families ... you have my sincerest sympathy.
SEVEN. Mass Beaching of Whales Almost 200 whales + dolphins were found stranded on a beach on Naracoopa Beach, King Island in Tasmania. Of those amount, 54 whales + 5 dolphins were rescued by volunteers and wild life social workers. The others were found dead before anyone could reach them. Some blame it on human military sonar activities, some blame it on the animal's navigational errors. I mean WTF... the whales just got stupid suddenly? The world is changing... weather is changing... UK struck by snow record high in 20 yrs... ominous signs here and there... are we on brink of extinction? I dont know... that leaves us with many unanswered questions.
EIGHT. Man U Wins... Again?!
Well, this one is a bit controversial... it might be good news to some but as far as I am concerned, it has been the most boring few seasons in EPL. Total domination by Man U. It must have been fun to be a Man U fan. With a 2 - 1 win over Newcastle, I am sure once again the season is over... done & dusted like Shebby Singh always caught saying. Sienzzz... Although I am not a fan for any particular club... but Quintuple for Man U... Kiss my ass!
NINE. It's not juz gloomy.. It's rainy too! I have picked up jogging recently. Thanks to my mate, Stev-o for his encouragement and guide. I have ran for 21 consecutive days and 35 days in total. I feel very fit. But of late, the weather is unpredictable with lotsa rains... sigh... these raining spells have definitely hamper my attempt to continue my running urge.
TEN. Chain Reaction All these bad news are making me very very reluctant to work. Assignments are piling up, meetings waiting to be conduct, progress running slow... Though I just had a little break in Langkawi which I really enjoyed that few days and when I am back to reality and exposure to all sorts of media, I am once again caught in this dark gloomy days... To my boss: I know it's a lame excuse for not performing :D
I can continue with more but since it's quite a lengthy post, I'll pass this time and moreover, it's way past my bed time... and I had enough of the glum.. good night all... a brighter tomorrow for all...
French greeting... Comment allez vous pronouce as "com mon ta le voo" in English translation meaning "how you doing". To some people like me, it carries another meaning altogether. Strangely and absurdly as it may sound, whenever my french mates greeted me, they make me think of a movie.
You start to wonder what is the relation between simple greeting and God of Gamblers III: Back to Shanghai.
Plot (source wikipedia)
After the events in God of Gamblers II, Tai-Kun who lost his ESP powers has regained the abilities again and decides to strike revenge towards Sing, the Saint of Gamblers. When Tai-Kun, with his condisciples as aids, is exerting ESP powers under full force against Sing who are doing the same, the spacetime becomes distorted and sends Tai-Kun and Sing to the 1937 Shanghai.
Meeting Sing's own grandfather Chow Tai Fook and the benign millionaire Ding Lik, Sing, in the meantime, must face the forthcoming crises arose from Ding Lik's foes and Japanese military forces, deal with his "mistaken" crush on one of a twin sisters, get to see for himself that who is the one that defeated the French "God of Gamblers" Pierre Cashon in that era - the mysterious "Comment allez-vous (cum-mun-ta-low-foo in cantonese pronunciation)", and finally find out how to travel back to year 1991 Hong Kong...
Street Fighter (ストリートファイター, Sutorīto Faitā), commonly abbreviated as SF, is a popular series of fighting games in which the players pit competitive fighters from around the world, each with his or her own special moves, against one another. Capcom released the first game in the series in August 1987.
To most of my friends and I, Street Fighter is about 'a-bu-pien', 'ho-liu-king', 'a-cha-cha-cha' and even 'alik-ku' in later stages when we were still obviously lack in the field of lexicology. Though I would prefer to blame it on the poor audio effects those cheap ass soundcards produced:D
Anyways, we found out much later that those words they were shouting bout were 'ha-dou-ken (fireball)', 'sho-ryu-ken (dragon punch)' and 'tatsumaki-senpu kyaku (hurricane kick)'. I do not know how we get to interpret hurricane kick as 'a-cha-cha-cha' but 1 thing for certain is that 'a-cha-cha-cha' sounds a lot simpler than tatsu-woteva ku:D
As a matter of fact, I grew up with SF. SF always have a special place in my heart. There are so much memories I recall whenever/wherever SF is mentioned. Followings are the Top 5 memories that still haunts like it just happened yesterday:
ICHI1. Those crap ass opponents that I always beat: Myke Ang, Chris Chew, Damien, Jonny, Chris Ng, James Ng, Mick Song and my good old neighbour Danny boy.
NI2. Some idiotic traitor friends that pointed out to the security guard the fact that I am underage to be playing SF in Jusco Computer Arcade just because they themselves look too much like puny lil asses and denied entry to the arcade.
SAN3. My cousins and me being caught by my mom at illegal computer arcades playing SF when we were supposedly to be at afternoon Chinese classes. Nearly shat in my pants:D
SHI4. Playing SF all night long on my Nintendo Super Famicom trying to beat M.Bison with ten straight perfect wins to enable a fight with the legendary fighting master Sheng Long. Err.. I did not succeed in trying and started to believe Sheng Long is a mythical legend.
GO5. Those crazy stone faces of my housemates in UK playing SF3: 3rd Strike all night long trying to beat my Gill. Miss those munchies, miss those cold nites, miss those happy time, matey...
SF IV will be out in a few months time and I hope it will bring me more crazy memories and the all new online multiplayer features already get my feet tingling. I cant wait no more... I want that game already!!!
